We’ve been spending the past 2 weeks in Bozeman, visiting the Staebler family, preparing for The Big Day and exploring the mountains around Bozeman. The most impressive thing about Bozeman – the sunsets. The shape and orientation of the valley combined with the thin clouds of a dry climate filter the light for a perfect [...] May 31st, 1980, I stood in my Nanny’s bedroom watching my mom slip on a delicate flowered floor length sun dress. I was dressed in my own “gown”, a light blue short sleeved dress that made me feel very grown up. I was even wearing my first pair of heels: little patent leather white sandals [...] Tim and I arrived back on the Mesa at 10 pm Sunday night. It was chilly and we were tired. There was no better greeting than to drive into camp and immediately be handed two hot steaming bowls of homemade clam chowder by Dan. Tim and I had thought we wouldn’t need to eat again [...] It was 6 pm by the time Tim and I had driven the 270 miles north up I15 to Salt Lake. We pulled into Jimmie and Keri’s driveway next to the Garage Mahal and were greeted by the birthday boy himself. Jimmie had completed 41 trips around the sun and was ready to celebrate.
