The Bozeman Chronicles – A Calm Before the Storm

We’ve been spending the past 2 weeks in Bozeman, visiting the Staebler family, preparing for The Big Day and exploring the mountains around Bozeman.  The most impressive thing about Bozeman – the sunsets.  The shape and orientation of the valley combined with the thin clouds of a dry climate filter the light for a perfect Golden Hour nearly every day.

Things have finally slowed down this week as we catch up with the preparation train.  The past few mornings we’ve had gorgeous cool summer sunrises in the mountains above Bozeman.  This morning a moose trolled by the van eating leaves and I couldn’t help taking some time to reflect on how extremely lucky we are to be outdoors so much.

Last week we celebrated Mary Lynn’s 40th birthday at Chico Hot Springs while finalizing details for the wedding.  Her birthday dinner was another absolutely beautiful evening in Paradise Valley punctuated by dramatic lightening storms.  Now that most of the plans are in place, we are getting very excited to have so many great friends celebrate with us in such a  beautiful and special place.

Now is the time to absorb and enjoy the buildup to this celebration.  It’s going to get hectic, but that’s what makes it so much fun!  Don’t stop the Carnival!

What a beautiful shot….looks like an incredible spot for a wedding!! Can’t wait to get there to enjoy the many friends and family who will share in this special time. Really looking forward to much cooler weather and those beautiful sunrises and sunsets, not to mention the mountains in the backdrop!! 22 days till the BIG day and even less until we see you both!!! Slow down now and enjoy these next few weeks. Hopefully, we will see you sooooon!! (Leroy thinks I may get arrested in the airport trying to bring all my needed “stuff”) Let the fun begin!!! Love you!!

No no no—don’t get arrested! Just explain you’ll be feeding 100 people at a wedding…I’m sure they will understand!
