A collection, some call a list.., of things we love to do, eat, use and see!
French Bread Pizza
1 loaf bakery French Bread (wider the better)
3 cruched cloves garlic
2 tbsp butter
1 can Hunt’s Pizza Sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1 tbsp sugar
basil, crushed red pepper, italian seasoning to taste
pepperoni
8 ounces hot sausage
1 thick diced onion
1 thick diced green pepper
5 sliced mushrooms
8 ounces shredded mozzarella
Heat broiler. Slice the loaf of French bread in half longways. Hollow out the soft bread center, creating a cavity. Combine the garlic and butter in small bowl and melt in microwave. Coat the cut side of the bread with the garlic butter, place on baking sheet and broil for 1-2 minutes until toasted.
Heat oven to 425. Combine the Pizza Sauce, tomato paste, sugar and herbs in a small bowl. Season to taste and set aside. Brown sausage, then remove from pan. In sausage pan, saute onions, peppers and mushrooms for 5 minutes until soft.
When bread is toasted, coat cavity with sauce. Don’t be stingy. Next layer pepperoni, sausage, and sauteed veggies. Cover with mozzarella and bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. If there is any extra sauce, use for dipping as desired. Yum.
The Cowboy Omelet, A.KA. The Honcho
A breakfast classic that is fast, easy and prepared in one pan but includes all the breakfast essentials. Just add coffee, tea and juice!
1 lb Jimmy Dean Sausage (Hot or Regular – stay away from the Maple)
1 Onion (optional)
1 lb Simply Shreds Hash browns (NOT FROZEN HASHBROWNS; these are in the dairy section)
8 Eggs (scrambled)
Salt and Pepper
Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
Brown sausage into crumbles over medium heat. If using onions, cook with sausage. If not much oil from sausage, add olive oil. Stir in Hash browns and season with Salt and Pepper mixing well with sausage and onions. Cook 10 mins stirring occasionally until Hash browns are brown. Lower heat to LOW. Pour in scrambled eggs and cover. Cook until eggs are done. Remove from heat and sprinkle cheese over top and cover to melt. Slice like a pie and serve!
