Bike MS McCall Update

We had an absolutely wonderful and inspirational Bike MS ride yesterday in McCall ID!  This ride was much smaller than Utah and much more intimate.  If you’ve never visited McCall it is definitely worth the trip.  This was our first visit to McCall and we were impressed.  The ride took us around Payette Lake and then up the Payette River to Upper Payette Lake.  We then climbed further over Secesh Summit where we turned around and repeated the course back down to town.

Bike MS McCall - Ride Start

During the ride and at dinner, we were inspired to meet some very courageous riders.  Mark, from Boise, was riding tandem with his Dad who recently lost his vision due to retinal separation.  Mark and his Dad lost their Mom/Wife a few years earlier to M.S. and now they continue to ride and fund-raise, using the tandem to overcome Dad’s blindness.

We also met Gordie, one of several bikers riding with M.S.  Gordie has lost most of the use of his legs, but still rides and fund-raises for Bike M.S. using a hand-driven recumbent bike.

Tara and Courtney Wrap Up the Day with Awards

The Bike MS McCall ride coordinator is Courtney Frost and she did an absolutely wonderful job putting this ride together.  There were fewer riders this year compared to year’s passed, but the dollars raised were still the same, so very nice work and a great big THANK YOU to Courtney, her staff, all the volunteers and especially all the riders and their supporters!

We will definitely be back for this ride!

Wow – what an inspiring group of riders! Wish we could have been there with you. Thank you both again for all you are doing for MS research.

Just one question: how did Frank get to Tempe, AZ while you are in McCall?
