It will be an epic 50th birthday celebration in Vegas! It’s not just Tim who’s turning 50, we are celebrating everyone who’s reaching half a century this year. We are planning a weekend of great times, good food, and of course basketball.

Needless to say, all events are optional. We will use this page to keep everyone up to date on where we are and what we’re up to. Join as much as you like!

Playtime Agenda

3.19 – Thursday
Most of you are arriving Thursday during the day. Tim and Mary Lynn will be set up in the vicinity of Treasure Island, finalizing Bradshaw Hoops and saying hi as people arrive. Basketball will be happening all day and should be wrapped up by about 9:00 pm PST. We are planning to go to a show late night and are considering Absinthe next door at Caesars Palace at 10pm. More details coming…

3.20 – Friday
Having recovered from the first late night in Vegas, we’ll likely start the day a bit later. Breakfast at the pool may be in order. Then we will find a good group game-watching spot for the day. We’ll be scoping out the options on Thursday but likely we will be near the Caesars’ Sportsbook.

We are planning a group dinner this evening. We’ll set up more details for this in March. Like all events through the weekend, everything is optional! We will communicate through What’s App on what’s happening, where and when as we go.

3.21 – Saturday – Birthday!
Since 2015, Tim has dreamed of throwing a huge party around basketball, food, and friends. We are incredibly excited to have you join us for all or part of the day.

This is a celebration of everyone turning 50, friendship and fun (and a little basketball!). No gifts please!

In the Luxury Box at Lagasse’s Stadium, we have a minimum spend of $10,000 for the entire day. This includes all food and beverage for the day (not the gambling, unfortunately!). We will have 3-4 large screen TVs for watching the games and our own servers for the bar. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the sportsbook is just a few steps away.

Starting at 9am on Saturday, we are planning for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a mimosa/Bloody Mary bar in the morning, appetizers in the afternoon and a full bar with servers all day as part of the room’s minimum spend.  You may also order anything from the menu.

Lagasse’s won’t allow any separate checks so we are pooling money towards the minimum spend.  Eat and drink what you want, order from the servers in the luxury box so that it all applies towards the minimum spend. Please contribute whatever you can or what you consume (many thanks in advance) and we will cover the difference. You can make a contribution here:

You can contribute any time up until the end of March (anonymously if that’s your preference)! All proceeds will go towards the final bill for the day. We are covering the difference.

Please plan to spend the day, enjoy yourself and celebrate birthdays, friendships, basketball, and good living!

We are pre-ordering some food for the day (but you can also order individually), so please give us a rough idea of when you plan to be there. We don’t need any exact times but if you don’t plan to be there for breakfast/lunch/dinner let us know. We just want to avoid 15 extra breakfast burritos.

3.22 – Sunday
It’s a day for pool parties and Bloody Mary recovery drinks. We have no plans for Sunday other than unwinding, relaxing and watching the rest of the games.

3.23 and beyond
For those folks staying later, Tim and Mary Lynn will be in town through Tuesday. After that, we are off to the desert. Come explore with us!

Things to Do

Vegas has an infinite number of ways to have fun, but here is a short list of some things happening during the weekend.

If this is your first time in Vegas, plan a Cirque Du Soliel show. They are out of this world. You can see them all here and you really can’t go wrong: https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/shows#cities (make sure you filter to Vegas).

Rod Stewart is in town and from what we hear, he puts on a great show – https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/shows/rod-stewart#.Xhtm6BdKjxg

Staying late? The Golden Knights NHL team is playing on Monday. We are planning on being there!

Communication

We have set up full group thread on What’s App in order to keep everyone up to date with what’s happening. If you don’t have What’s App, its great, download here. Here is the link to the Group Chat.

Remember this group will include everyone so use it wisely!

Lodging

Don’t forget! If you signed up for the room block, book your rooms now! The deadline is February 1. Contact us for the link if you need it.
