We’ll be in town from March 12th – 22nd, but things will be particularly interesting from the 18th – 22nd. Music from South By Southwest begins on the 17th and lasts through the 21st. For the techies out there, the SXSW Interactive Conference is March 12th – 16th and offers seminars, workshops and introductions to new technology and software.
Imagine breaking up the winter doldrums with sunny warm days by the pool, the 1st and 2nd rounds of the NCAA basketball tournament, nonstop Austin entertainment, and dipping your toes in Barton Springs. We’d love to see you!
Entertainment:
The South by Southwest Music Festival is comprised of 1,500 bands playing at 80 venues for 5 days from March 17th – 22nd. A badge to get into any venue all 5 days is $700, but we’ ve made some phone calls and found out that individual venues also offer tickets for the night for about $20 a pop. You may stand in line for a little longer, but the price is right. Tim and I are going this route.
Accommodations:
Tim and I have reserved several sites at the Austin Lone Star RV Resort and we’d love to have you pitch a tent with us. The RV Park is a long bike ride (5 miles) or short bus ride (15 minutes) from Downtown Austin. If you have plans for a larger vehicle, let us know and we’ll see if we can add another spot. We’ll probably also pick up a rental car to make transportation easier.
