Today was the perfect combo of work and play. We woke up at Linn Canyon Ranch after music throughout the night. We knew we needed to get access to internet so our first quest was to track down a connection. After cruising the town of Victor, we returned to Driggs and set up camp in Broulim’s Grocery Store parking lot. The Daily Buzz Coffee Shop was cranking out the bandwidth and though it wasn’t our most scenic stop, we had a great signal.
We settled in for a full work day in the warm sun. With the exception of a quick shopping trip inside, we had a productive work day. By 3 pm, our visiting friends Scott and Tatiana joined us and Tim hopped on his bike to ride up Horseshoe Canyon. I stayed to finish working, but he cut his day short to join Scott riding the 7 miles to the trail head and then around the Horseshoe Loop. The weather was perfect and the trails were smooth. We may have complained about the rain before, but now that the sun is out, the biking is really very good.
I joined them after work and we went back to the house for dinner. Tim broke out the big kite and the kids took turns getting a chance to fly it while Tim kept them anchored to the ground. By the end of the evening, the kids had relished a rainbow, a campfire, and a sleep in a tent. They are having the best vacation.
Tomorrow Tim and I will return to Jackson for time in the office and much needed showers, but our return to the road couldn’t have been better, even if the journey was just over the Pass.
