Finally we had the perfect summer day in the Tetons. We woke up at 7 to perfect blue skies. Tim snacked on some breakfast and rode the 7 miles up the Targhee road. I needed to get some work done so I took the quicker route and drove the van. Tim then rode down the Mill Creek trail while I got some web work finished.
He then pedaled up the Targhee road a second time and arrived back at the van coated with sweat by 10:45. 3 minutes later Tatiana and Scott rode in. I hadn’t seen them for years and it was awesome catching up. We walked up to the Targhee bike clinics and watched as their boys, Luke and Will, awed the instructors. Luke, at age 6, is taking on obstacles that I would be nervous about!
After our morning in the sun, we returned to our campsite in Teton Canyon to pick up the Jeep and let the boys splash around in the creek. I am not sure who had the most fun, the 3 and 6 year olds, or Scott as he tried to build a bridge over the water. Tatiana and I were just happy to sit on the tailgate and catchup after 3 years.
Finally as dinner time approached, we left the wilderness and went to a free concert in Victor at the Linn Canyon Ranch. This is the sure sign that summer has hit the valley, live outdoor music is here. We arrived at the concert and saw tons of people we knew. There were 4 bands, free beer and tons of sun. Everywhere people were celebrating summer. It was a long time coming but now that it’s here, we can will enjoy it!
