Trykes and Elks

New Neighbors Today kept Tim and I busy. We started with a fast breakfast and then we each dove into our respective projects. 10 hours later the work day was done and it was time for fun. We met up at Fitzgerald’s Bicycles for the Friends of Pathways Block Party. Though someone else walked away with my sure thing, free Cruiser bike, it was a very good time.  Adults raced up and down the street on tricycles, we saw good friends and even got a free shirt. It was another great way to celebrate green transportation.

We then made our way home and I was back on the computer working on websites, my second job. While I uploaded Joomla to a new server, a whole new experience of troubleshooting, Tim made homemade Pizza. Thank goodness for his culinary skills. We had a great dinner while I plugged away and then he wrapped it up by doing the dishes too.

In between making homemade sauce and spreading pepperoni, he also took an opportunity to see what had Belle so riled up about in the back yard.  There he saw about 5 elk standing just 25 feet from the back fence. Belle was alternating between barking wildly and pointedly turning her back on the disturbance.  But strangely enough the elk didn’t seem disturbed. They clearly knew that Belle wasn’t going to get any closer and they calmly nibbled on the green rain soaked trees. Even Tim’s presence with a camera didn’t seem to bother them much. It was a peaceful moment in a whirlwind of a day!
