Our picture today is from the top of Glory at 5:00 pm. It’s winter again in Jackson and Tim climbed in blizzard conditions to reach the summit. But the snow was worth it. Though there was a crusty bottom underneath, the top layer is soft and fluffy. With a few more inches tonight, it will be perfect skiing tomorrow. Tim is planning on an early morning run with Drew and Sam to take advantage of the late season storm.
Tim invited me for the evening ski, but I had a meeting instead. It was time for Ed, Zach and I to sit down and discuss the feasibility of remote work again. We’ve decided that it’s the right thing for FIT to figure out. In this day and age, computer work can be done anywhere so we’re going to spend another try understanding how to make it happen. To that end, I will start working at home next week and fine tune our systems. Then I’ll be back in the office the following two weeks while we figure out what needs to go more smoothly. Then the big test is Tim and my trip south in May. We’ll be in Fruitta, Moab, and Escalante, but I’ve committed to my usual 8 to 5 work schedule. It’s the necessary balance between lifestyle and reliability.
FIT has developed the communication and work flow systems significantly since we tried it last. I am confident we’ll all be successful! Once we’ve got the means in place than any of us can travel but still be effective. The folks at Vertical Media are great role models, so we’ll look to them for inspiration!
