This morning we all woke up groggy after a late night. We took the grand tour of Vegas last night showing Keri, who’d never been there before, all the sights we could squeeze into an evening. We started with dinner with Scott at Margaritaville. The meal included pirates on 7 foot stilts and a bikini clad dancer who slid down the side of a 2 story erupting volcano into a giant Margarita….only in Vegas.
Leaving the Caribbean, we walked down the street to Paris. We watched the Bellagio fountain show from 51 stories up on the Eiffel Tower observation deck. We then visited the Bellagio itself to see what a million dollar blown Italian glass ceiling looked like. From there it was off to Caesar’s to place our bets at the Sportsbook for the outcome of the NCAA basketball championship.
Though we did our best, we weren’t able to talk our way into PURE, the Caesar Palace Nightclub. Our Jackson–fashionable flip flops didn’t pass muster. We settled for a quick stop at the blackjack tables instead. Jimmie kept his promise and didn’t put any money in, but I got lucky with 4 winning hands and earned our cab ride back to the Circus Circus KOA. We got our $50 in winnings without a single argument.
This morning we shook the cobwebs out of our heads with a stop at Scott’s recommendation, the Peppermill, a Vegas breakfast favorite. The food was piled high and as delicious as he had said. We stuffed ourselves for our long drive home. We piled into Frank and Jimmie drove us all the way back to Salt Lake City. The radio was tuned into football and we listened to 10 hours straight of Sunday games. 500 miles went fast with the Giants, Redskins and Steelers in the car.
