March Begins and the Snow Continues

Aspens Tim’s favorite month, March, has arrived! It’s a time of great basketball, spring skiing, St. Patty’s day, birthdays, and this year, travel! And with his announcement of Rabbit, it will be a lucky month too! Some folks may not be familiar with the Rabbit tradition, so I looked it up here for anyone is interested. My Granddaddy was a faithful adherent of the superstition and it’s been passed down by the entire family ever since. We play it so that the first person to say Rabbit has all the luck…Tim has become a worthy opponent!

Today we planned some skiing but after a taste of the snow yesterday, it seemed better and safer on the knees to make this a work day instead. By noon another storm rolled in, so we are looking forward to some better skiing tomorrow. Tim spent the day on website design, while I worked on my writing class. We also squeezed in three very close basketball games – a fitting way to spend March 1. And after today the Heels should be on top again!

And speaking of birthdays, Happy Birthday to Gretchen! She’s just made it back into town and we’re looking forward to hanging out with her again soon!

Who knew that the “Rabbit” tradition had made it into Wikipedia! Good detective work, Mary Lynn. Granddaddy would be pleased!
