I feel like I keep writing about the snow…but it has been an absolutely extraordinary winter! Tonight we’re driving down to Salt Lake to drop off Jimmie and then we’re off to Park City to meet up with the 429-apalooza party. The trip on a clear day takes about 4 ½ hours. The trip on a snowy day takes about 5 ½ hours. Tonight’s trip has taken 6 hours….and counting. Right now we’re still 78 miles outside of town…I think it could be a full 9 hours before we’re done. Tim has been behind the wheel of a newly repaneled Frank. He looks as good as new! And Tim has handled the snow wonderfully. We just completed quite possibly the scariest section of blizzard highway driving the three of us have ever experienced. But the further south we drive, the clearer it’s getting so things are looking brighter. Tomorrow is going to be an amazing day of skiing based on the nonstop deluge of snow we’ve been receiving.
And how can I be talking in the present tense while on the road? Well that is the other extraordinary part of the experience! I am currently typing out this blog on the internet, attached to Tim’s new phone, while we drive down the highway. Technology has come a long way!! I can work on a Macintosh remotely from my PC while we drive through a blizzard 100 miles outside of Salt Lake City – incredible. It’s truly the only way to travel!

I give up….what is a 429-apalooza party?
