Welcome to our blog! It’s New Year’s Day, 2008 and Tim and I’ve decided to create a daily journal featuring a photo shot by Tim that day and a short writeup by me to tell you what we’re up to. This idea was inspired by Christine Wilkerson, Tim’s 93 year old grandmother, who has kept a daily journal for over 40 years. Her diaries are precious to all that know her, documenting the highs and lows of 4 decades. If we can capture a smidgen of the value that Nene has with her diaries, it will be a worthwhile endeavor.
With this blog, we hope to keep friends and family in touch with our travel adventures as well as every day life. Our goal is also to hone our skills in photography and writing as we look for the extraordinary in the ordinary wherever we go. For more of Tim’s pictures, check out the photo tab where you’ll find hundreds of great photos from the last few years.
Today’s picture is from the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade on Snow King Mountain. Last night we drove up Saddle Butte for a better view and met Peter Guttman, his wife Lori and 9 year old son Chase. Peter is a internationally reknowned photographer from NYC who had some great stories to tell! While we waited for the parade to begin, we all stayed warm in our Sportsmobile sharing appetizers, champagne, and browsing through Peter’s photo books. A great first encounter for our new blog!
So read what you like, feel free to comment if anything strikes you, and come back tomorrow, because we promise we’ll have something new. Happy New Year!!

Nice work, guys! Congrats on the longboard, Tim – can’t wait to carve a few with you! Happy New Year,
