In the midst of the busy-ness of our lives and the constant repeating crazy (I say crazy!) blizzard snow storms that have been raging through the West for the last few weeks, today was a day of calm. Eerie. The snow stopped and we saw a little sun today. It won’t let up! The [...] We seem to be getting in the habit of the midweek sushi party! Tonight we finally caught up with our friends, Rhett and Emily, over a great meal of sushi. This time there were no dresses or wigs, just lots of laughs. Rhett and Emily have recently arrived home from their honeymoon. They spent the [...] Today the snow kept on coming. Twin Slides slid and closed Teton Pass. The Village was blown down most the day with skiers stuck at Nick Wilson’s because the road back to town was closed. As I looked out my office windows, I couldn’t see the buildings across the street [...] It just keeps snowing! Tim, Jimmy and I headed to Grand Targhee this morning for our second great ski day of the weekend. The area is under a severe storm alert for the next 24 hours. 18 – 24 inches are predicted. We were excited for more snow! When we [...] Today was a day for great snow! Tim and Jimmy headed off early to Jackson Hole Ski Resort where they met up with our friends, Ian, Ellen and Sully, and rode the powder all day. The night before 7 inches of new snow fell so there were fresh tracks to be found [...] Tonight Jimmy Shell, Tim’s oldest friend, is here from Salt Lake! We celebrated by heading to Jack Goldstein’s birthday party. Every year for the past several years Jack has thrown a party at the base of our town mountain, Snow King. No matter the weather, there is yummy BBQ and snow [...] Today was a work/ski/play day. This morning Tim and I woke up at 5:30 motivated to climb Glory for an early morning ski. We had grand visions of moonset/sunrise pictures from the top. But something about -18F degree temperatures deflated that motivation. The top of Glory looked beautiful, [...] Tonight Tim and I attended a seminar titled Creativity and Right Livelihood. The course was taught by Gifford Pinchot III, President of the Bainbridge Institute. Our friend, Steve Jansen, is working on his MBA in Sustainable Business through the Institute and sparked Tim’s interest in the course. The class was taught in two [...] Whew! After a busy weekend, we launched into a busier week! I didn’t get home from work until 1:30 am after a long server upgrade. Thank you so much Tim for picking up the blog! It was a late night of work followed by not one, but two cop stops in a [...] Today was a catchup day! I didn’t see Mary Lynn all day, in fact I didn’t even leave the house after I took out the garbage at 6am! I think Mary Lynn is still working tonight so I am filling in. It was a cold MLK Monday and with the stock market [...] We’re back home after an easy day of travel from North Carolina. This morning, our 7:20 am flight out of Raleigh was delayed due to weather. Thanks to the 4 am phone call from Delta, this gave us an extra hour to sleep in. We needed it, we were exhausted. Dee dropped [...] 5:00 pm: GO HEELS!! It’s halftime on Game Day and the Tarheels are behind – 41 to 35. The crowd is starting to get restless. But we are decked out in our Carolina Blue (including a fabulous blue hat from Sylvia complete with pompom on top), and we’re optimistic that they can [...] Last night, we hit the tarmac at 11:00 pm sharp. Dee stayed up late to pick us up at the airport. Dee and Tim were councilors together at Camp Piankatank, 20 years ago, and have been friends ever since. Since Dee’s years as sailing instructor at the Camp, he has made [...] Today we had a change of plans. We arrived at the airport at 8:00 am, 45 minutes before our flight…and we were the only ones there. Now anytime a flight is leaving from JH Airport, things are typically zoo-like. This was not good. We ran through the possibilities, did [...] Well after a short week we are on the road again! Tomorrow we hop on a plane to head to Chapel Hill for a University of North Carolina basketball game. I’ve never been to a UNC game, I can’t wait! We are now watching the UNC/GA Tech, sitting on the edge of our seats. [...] It was another very busy day and another busy night! Tim spent the day in interviews for the new Vertical Media sales position, while I continued my fight against viruses and spyware across the computer networks of Jackson. But when 5 o’clock came, it was time to climb into the van [...] No it’s not Halloween, it’s a sushi dress-up party!! I actually did not wear this particular number but toned it down with a red polka dot “Marilyn Monroesque” dress. I think the real stunner was Tim in his long purple wig and floor length gown. He wouldn’t let me post [...] Today we finally finished settling in to our new digs. As most of you know, we have moved in with Ann and Scott to do some house sitting and to help take care of Belle and Calli while they are back East. It’s a wonderful house and Ann has [...] Some days are more action packed than others. After 3 days in the backcountry, it was time to get back to work!
